Review: Matrix ... When I first heard about it, I expected just another sci-fi action thriller. Good and full of crazy stunts, but not too intelligent.Boy, I was wrong. Oh stunts in spades, all right, and they are wonderful. The special effects are really amazing (even the same used in other films, as a result, and explain as well). But the film has a plot as well. It has characters that I cared about. The Keanu Reeves Neo superb drawing, a man trying to come to grips with his own identity, Lawrence Fishburnes mysterious Morpheus, even nasty agents, each a great job of making their characters more than the typical action hero kicks ass and cannon fodder duties. I care about every one of the heroes, villains and hated with a passion. It has a plot, and that means ... and lo and behold, tract of land does help fight scenes! Just try it if you havent seen this movie before. See one of the fight scenes. Then watch the movie. Theres a big difference in the feel and excitement of the scene, sure, they are great as standalones, but the whole thing together is an experience unlike just about everything else that comes in theaters. Think about that next see one of the more stupid action flicks ... I mean how much better can be.All I can say is watch this movie. If not, you're missing out on one of the best movies of all time. It's not just the special effects people.
