Review: Paris is exciting and peaceful. Gertrude Stein Welcome to the world of Woody Allen, as he has always loved it, nostalgic, romantic, imperfect and full of hope. Midnight in Paris is one of his finest essays on the handset and delusions of the past: Like Zelig it portrays other times, like Purple Rose of Cairo it uses magical realism to control squarely with the flow. Allen has another one of his surrogates, this time Gil (Owen Wilson), who basically experiencing the past (twenties) and survive the harsh present.Gil, is engaged to marry Inez (Rachel McAdams), together with her and her parents on business in Paris, where he hopes to work on his novel while he still is a successful Hollywood writer fo. Although she is a materialist who wants him to be rich to enjoy life his parents are accustomed to, he dreams of escape hack work LA and live in the City of Lights for inspiration, like their idols Fitzgerald and Hemingway did in the roaring twenties.Well, twenties roar back to him when he sees his friendship and mentorship of Gertrude Stein, among just some of the many international celebrities he meets through the magic of nostalgia. Only one of Allen's signature touches that make him just as great European directors like Rohmer and Godard film opens with music that reflects the feel of the twenties, the romance of Paris, and his eternal chain ; love for this city: Si Tu Vois Ma More of Sidney Bechet combines jazz, clarinet, twenties, and Allen with a romantic nostalgia.Owen Wilson captures stop distrust of the typical Allen persona without slavishly imitating him. But what little duplication Wilson employs endears him sweetly visits his heroes, fall in love, and coming to terms with his writer's block vote and his unsurpassed dedication. But that commitment, it is difficult at present, the past will have a chance to experience the story on a human level that only a person who writes for now and honor the fo rflutna can do. Magic and realism, both require hard work from the protagonist lead to surprising understanding of human nature, the illusion of nostalgia and Paris, and hope for a gift to bring love and inspiration . For all we know, Paris being the hottest place in the universe. (Gil) Its been at least ten years ago, I had an Allen film so much.
