Review: Superbad may look like a typical high school movie on the cover, but it is actually much more. It follows a trio of high-school aged who decide to have one last game before he goes to college (and last time to catch a girl). The trio consists of Seth, Evan and Fogell. They make a nice main division that is very easy to compare. Their style of play is ideal for this type of film. Join there are several other interesting characters. My favorite was the two officers Slater and Michaels. Almost every scene with them made me laugh, its references to other films to parodies about being an officer, or his field comedy. The classic burlesque is definitely a strong point Unlike many comedies today. Most of the film follows two different lines of the plot which join at the end. Inter-woven into the plot are innumerable jokes that made me laugh almost all the time. The plot itself involves alcohol, parties, and the law, and somehow that work to make a very absorbing story. In addition, the particularly close friendship between Seth and Evan is an element that goes beyond the genre of comedy. The plot as a whole has a lot of realistic details, but manages to successfully merge comedy with some meaning. The deeper aspects of comedy are some of the best always. Some of the jokes were a bit disgusting (especially the section about childhood Seths), but I have to admit that they have a lot of fun. Aspects of the beer was pretty cool, and sexual teasing their business. Parodies of law and jokes McLovin probably favorite. The my film as a whole is among the best comedies ever. I liked it more than Knocked Up (7/10). It still suffers from some inherent weaknesses of the genre of comedy, but it has much more value than most movies today. Highly recommended for people in high school or college, and also recommended (but to a lesser extent) for all.
